Chọn từng mục để so sánh.
Data that must stay on premises: Outposts and infrastructure close to users
Some data must stay in the company’s own data center (on premises) by regulation; AWS can bring its infrastructure and services to that site.
MFTECH’s payment subsidiary runs Kubernetes in its own data center. Regulations require all data and workloads to stay physically in that data center, but the infrastructure team wants an AWS-managed Kubernetes control plane, CloudWatch and IAM.
AWS Outposts is a fully managed service that extends AWS infrastructure, services, APIs and tools to customer premises; AWS operates, monitors and manages the Outpost capacity as part of a Region. Amazon EKS on Outposts has two options: extended clusters (control plane in the Region, nodes on the Outpost) and local clusters (control plane and nodes on the Outpost); with both, the control plane is fully managed by AWS. AWS recommends local clusters when Kubernetes operations must continue through network disconnects from the Region or when data residency mandates require it.
The services below also bring resources close to users or on premises, but they do not meet this requirement. Select each one to compare.
Places compute, storage, database and other select AWS services close to large population and industry centers, giving users there low-latency access without owning and operating a data center. Resources are managed through the parent Region's console and API.
Vì sao không chọn trong tình huống nàyA Local Zone is AWS-operated infrastructure in a metro area, not in MFTECH's data center; data and workloads leave the premises.
Phương án phù hợpAn Outposts rack in the data center, running an Amazon EKS local cluster.
- Data and workloads must stay in your own data center but you need AWS managed services: AWS Outposts (for Kubernetes: an Amazon EKS local cluster on Outposts).
- Low latency for users in a metro area without your own data center: Local Zones.
- Low latency for mobile devices through a carrier network: Wavelength.
