Kết nối on-premises: Site-to-Site VPN và Direct Connect
Văn phòng và data center của doanh nghiệp (on-premises) cũng cần kết nối vào VPC, hoặc qua internet có mã hoá, hoặc qua đường truyền riêng.
Văn phòng MFTECH cần kết nối vào VPC. Có hai phương thức: Site-to-Site VPN truyền qua internet với mã hóa, và Direct Connect là kết nối chuyên dụng tới AWS. Mỗi tình huống dưới đây tương ứng với một yêu cầu thực tế của văn phòng. Chọn phương thức kết nối và gửi request để quan sát đường đi của traffic.

- Site-to-Site VPN: virtual private gateway (hoặc transit gateway) ở phía AWS, customer gateway device ở phía on-premises, customer gateway là tài nguyên trong AWS mô tả thiết bị đó; mỗi VPN connection có hai tunnel.
- Triển khai nhanh, chi phí thấp: Site-to-Site VPN.
- Kết nối ổn định, chuyên dụng: Direct Connect (thiết lập VPN bên trên khi cần mã hóa, bổ sung VPN làm kết nối dự phòng).
- Nhiều Region: private VIF tới Direct Connect gateway.
- Truy cập S3 qua Direct Connect: public VIF.
- Các chi nhánh giao tiếp với nhau: VPN CloudHub.
- Thông lượng VPN không đủ: Transit Gateway với ECMP.
Connecting on premises: Site-to-Site VPN and Direct Connect
The company’s offices and data centers (on premises) also need to connect to the VPC, either over the internet with encryption or over a dedicated line.
MFTECH’s office needs to connect to the VPC. There are two methods: Site-to-Site VPN travels over the internet with encryption, and Direct Connect is a dedicated connection to AWS. Each scenario below corresponds to a real requirement of the office. Choose a connection method and send a request to watch the traffic’s path.

- Site-to-Site VPN: a virtual private gateway (or a transit gateway) on the AWS side, a customer gateway device on the on-premises side, and a customer gateway, the AWS resource that describes that device; each VPN connection has two tunnels.
- Fast to deploy, low cost: Site-to-Site VPN.
- A stable, dedicated connection: Direct Connect (set up a VPN on top when encryption is needed, and add a VPN as a backup connection).
- Multiple Regions: private VIF to a Direct Connect gateway.
- Accessing S3 over Direct Connect: public VIF.
- Branch offices communicating with each other: VPN CloudHub.
- Insufficient VPN throughput: Transit Gateway with ECMP.
